Poza La Pipa: Enjoy a charming turquoise pool without paying a single penny.

To discover more about Costa Rica , we bring you an excellent option for strolling and enjoying without pay a cent.

This time we went to Guanacaste to enjoy a turquoise water pool, a truly beautiful place. This is Poza La Pipa, located in the Curubandé district of Liberia. All the rivers in this area originate from the slopes of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, which is why the waters of its pools have that particular turquoise color.

It is the largest pool in Curubandé, visited by many people on weekends and even during Holy Week. One of the nice things about this pool is that you can also camp for free.

The most beautiful thing about this pool is that they don’t charge a single colon or dollar to enter. Located just 800 meters from the downtown center, you can easily reach it by car without any problem.

You don’t need a 4×4 or four-wheel drive vehicle since the road is all paved up to Curubande, and from there, it’s 800 meters on a gravel road that is in perfect condition, allowing any type of vehicle to enter.

La Pipa is quite famous because its water is cold, but after swimming for a few minutes, the body adapts to the temperature. Its main attraction is the rock slide that the current has formed over several years.

Taking a dip in La Pipa is safe since the depths do not exceed two meters; however, for the more adventurous, this area offers a variety of pools such as the one at the Colorado River Canyon, which offers a depth of six meters and allows the most spirited to jump from a ten-meter-high rock.

If you plan to go to La Pipa, we recommend bringing several changes of clothes, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a cap and sunglasses, as well as a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

Near of this beautiful place, we can find more rivers and pools that can be visited without having to pay. Write to us to provide you with the best routes to discover at the Tico style.
