The beach of Ostional is the scenery for a rarely-seen biological wonder. Whole year, the week before new moon, hundreds – and sometimes hundreds of thousand sea turtles come to one specific mile of beach at Ostional to dig their eggs into the black, volcanic sand. It is a natural experience in a setting so unique and powerful, one that cannot help but expand your compassion, understanding, and admiration of the natural world. The day of the “arribada”, the beach is completely saturated with nests, eggshells, baby turtles, and nesting females.

One of the lesser known, but equally beautiful spot is Playa Cabuyal, the only Virgen Beach in Liberia. Located just a short drive away from Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Quiroz International Airport. It is a white sand beach with crystal clear turquoise waters, surrounded by lush vegetation of tropical dry forest. Cabuyal beach has almost intact great natural scenic beauty, as southwest lies the Cabuyal Punta and estuary, and northeast the Cabuyal Hill with rocky headlands.
Playa Naranjo, also known as Witches Rock or Roca Bruja in Spanish, is located in Guanacaste Costa Rica. The beach is extremely popular among surfers and is known for amazing scenery. The remote location makes it somewhat harder to reach and is therefore reserved for the serious and dedicated surfer rather than the beginner. Playa Naranjo is part of Santa Rosa National Park.
